A teacher with stage experience, teaching experience, and a genuine love for the craft.
I grew up in the Groningen countryside, surrounded by cows, ditches, trees and open fields. When I was seven, my parents let me take guitar lessons at the music school in Groningen. My teacher at the time, Vincent, made a lasting impression on me with his lute and classical guitar playing. He took both me and teaching seriously, and gave me the most valuable foundation I still build on today.
When I was fourteen, I played in my first band, amps turned up to 11, rehearsing in the neighbour’s milking shed. In the years that followed, I wandered a lot, always with my guitar by my side. I earned my conservatory degree and spent many years composing, performing live and teaching. I still feel most at home when there is less talking and more making music. To me, making music comes as close to magic as anything can.
